Shepherd’s Hill Ranch

Life on the Farm

Shepherd’s Hill Ranch is a family farm in Austin, Arkansas where multiple generations work together to care for livestock, orchards, and pasture while producing food responsibly.

The Orchard

Alongside our pastures, we are establishing an orchard with fruit trees and berries that will provide seasonal harvests for years to come. Our farm includes blueberries and young plantings of peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears. As the farm continues to grow, we plan to add raspberries, blackberries, and grapes to expand the fruit we are able to share with our local community.

Livestock on Pasture

Livestock are an important part of daily life at Shepherd’s Hill Ranch. Our sheep and cattle are raised on pasture where they have space to graze and move naturally throughout the seasons. Caring for these animals is a shared effort across our family, and they play a key role in the rhythm of life on the farm.

Rotational Grazing

We manage our pastures using rotational grazing, moving livestock through different sections of pasture throughout the season. This allows grasses time to recover while providing animals fresh forage. Rotational grazing supports healthier soil, stronger pastures, and a more sustainable system for both livestock and land.
